The close friends and family of late singer Aaliyah had lots to say about her biopic Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B that aired on Lifetime Saturday, and unfortunately for the cast and crew, it was nothing positive.

Aaliyah's friend and mega producer Timbaland (who is featured on her hits like Are You That Somebody?) lead the ranks with dozens of posts when it came to dissing Lifetime's casting choices and the story lines of the film.

He started by posting a snapshot of the photograph that was used to promote the film. He added the caption, "Hope y'all not watching this!!!!!!!!!"

He then tapped Beyonce to help with the next one. The rapper posted a snapshot of the singer gasping during a performance with the words, "Watching the Aalyah biopic like..."

Next he put a side-by-side picture of Missy Elliott and the actress who portrayed her, Chattrisse Dolabaille. He was one of many who pointed out there is no resemblance at all.

He then shared a side-by-side of lead actress Alexandra Shipp, who played the late singer, as well as Aaliyah's herself.

On Shipp's side it reads, "U think [anyone] liked the movie?"

On Aaliyah's it says, "Dust Yourself Off and Try Again," making reference to her song Try Again.

His series of posts continued well into Sunday. He ended his rant with a vow that fans would be hearing from him even more. He wrote in the caption, "Ok ok ok I've think I've made my point on how I feel so plsss don't ask me just go to @timbaland and u will see but a fan said to me Timbo chill Man U just blowing the s--- up and I said true statement so fans ain't s--- we can do what's done is done but what we can do is not feed into nomore but I will speak on it loud and clear !!!!!!!! As for Aaliyah's best friend Missy Elliott, she kept it simple when letting fans know she did not support the film, especially since Aaliyah's family was not behind it.

When Timbaland asked if fans were watching, the Can't Stand The Rain rapper replied, "no.. My prayers go to @Rad_6 & ma Diane to lose a sister & daughter then father they been thru so much".

As for Aaliyah's brother, Rashad Haughton, he also made it clear on Twitter he did not agree with the movie.
