It is clear at this point to fans of FX's Sons of Anarchy that Gemma (Katey Sagal) will do whatever it takes to protect her family, and it's possible that she may kill again.

Sagal spoke with reporters recently about the final arc of episodes for Sons of Anarchy, discussing Gemma's motivations and the extent to which she would go in order to protect the ones she loves.

"I think she would kill anybody," Sagal said. "I do! At the end of the day, if it was to protect her grandchildren, her son or herself, I think she would kill anybody."

As expected, the dynamic between Gemma and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) has changed now that he knows that she killed Tara (Maggie Siff). It is unclear if Gemma will get away with murder as the series concludes, but Sagal believes that either scenario is not a good one for Gemma.

"It's gone so far that to me, either way is horrible," Sagal said, laughing. "You will see the way it all pans out but it's a tough call. But people do heinous things and still have lives. Oh yes, they do."

Discussing the final arc, Sagal promised that "there's lots of tears that were shed. I'm excited for fans to see the conclusion. I feel like this season overall has been so strong in the character department," adding, "I think it will be great for fans. I don't think they'll be disappointed at all."

Sons of Anarchy airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
