Drea de Matteo, who plays Wendy on FX's Sons of Anarchy, gave some insight this week into her character and Gemma's (Katey Sagal) relationship, revealing what she would advise her to do about her secret.

Jax Finally Learning The 'Ugly Truth' About Gemma's Actions?

de Matteo spoke with Entertainment Weekly after Tuesday night's episode of Sons of Anarchy, discussing Wendy and Gemma's arc and what would happen if Gemma came clean about everything.

"I think Gemma and Wendy have really gotten to a place of acceptance," de Matteo said. "Where Gemma's been at this season, she's really trying to do her own damage control. She's the one villain who did something so absolutely unforgivably brutal to the main protagonist of the show. It's vile, but yet, as a fan who watches the show, I completely understand her."

'Sons of Anarchy' Standout Venus Returning In Final Episodes After Tender Scene With Tig?

She went on to explain that this is how Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter chose to write the character of Gemma, and how Sagal has chosen to play it.

Intriguingly, de Matteo said that if Gemma wound up telling Wendy why she murdered Tara (Maggie Siff), she would be horrified but she wouldn't want revenge.

"I think Wendy being the kind of person that she is, would completely understand. Would she be petrified? I'm sure. Would she be mortified? I'm sure. Would she want revenge? I doubt it. Would she want Jax to take revenge? No f---ing way."

At this point, it looks like Gemma's world is starting to crumble now that little Abel told Jax (Charlie Hunnam) that Gemma killed Tara. It will be interesting to see if Wendy is included in this storyline going forward.

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
