Finn Wittrock has turned into the breakout star of FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show, so the actor will likely return for season 5 of the horror anthology next year.

'American Horror Story' Star Gabourey Sidibe Returns To 'Freak Show'; Dandy's Next Victim?

Wittrock, who plays the petulant Dandy Mott on Freak Show, spoke with GoldDerby this week about a variety of topics, including the possibility of him returning as a different character in season 5.

"I would say 'yes,'" he said when asked if he would come back. "I don't know if I would do the whole season, maybe a few, you know? But that's all very, very up in the air .... I would want to do something absolutely, completely, diametrically different than this."

Wittrock's performance as Dandy is very over the top, portraying him as a spoiled rich kid whose anger over his own boredom spills over frequently, resulting in him murdering pretty much anyone who gets in his way.

The actor also discussed the buzzed-about shirtless montage in episode 5's Pink Cupcakes, saying that he didn't know just how much he would be in his underwear.

"First, [the producers told me], 'You're gonna be shirtless during episode 5' and I was like, OK, I can deal with that," he said. "And then I get the script and I'm like, this is a lot more than being shirtless, guys! Like, come on, you could have given me some warning!"

If Wittrock were to return, it would probably please many of the show's fans. The recent Enstars poll asking who is the best character on American Horror Story: Freak Show resulted in Dandy receiving 25 percent of the vote, with the next highest characters Amazon Eve (Erika Ervin) and Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch) at 12 percent.

American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
