Washington, who plays the D.C. crisis manager Olivia Pope in the ABC series, may be tackling a new role in the Warner Bros. thriller 'Unforgettable.'

According to Variety, both Washington and Kate Hudson are set to star in the new film, and while the deals are still in the very early stages, both parties are eager to work out all of the details.

Kerry Washington Opens Up About Olivia Pope

The film, directed by Amma Asante, will center around a man whose new wife, played by Washington, is threatened by his ex-wife (Hudson's character).

This definitely will not be Washington's first time on the big screen. The actress is known for a number of roles, including Ray Charles' wife in Ray, Broomhilda in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained and plenty of other notable films.

If these reports are in fact true, fans will be more than excited to see their favorite gladiator starring on the big screen.

There's no word on when the film will begin shooting or when it will hit theaters, but luckily Kerry Washington fans can catch their favorite actress on the small screen every Thursday night on Scandal at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Sadly, Scandal is currently on hiatus, but the second half of season five will return on January 29th of the new year.
