Orange Is the New Black fan favorite Uzo Aduba recently discussed her big transition from guest star to supporting player for season 2 and revealed a tidbit of what's ahead for season 3 in 2015.

Aduba, who plays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, spoke with GoldDerby about her uptick in screen time for season 2 and how what Suzanne would have to go through was actually more challenging to her.

"That was a hard exercise as an actor," she revealed in the GoldDerby video chat. "This was an exercise in standing by a choice that I would never choose. But I have to take my own judgments and my own thoughts about the matter and shelve them and I have to put them over here and I have to exist from a place of hope."

At the end of season 2, Suzanne took the fall for the manipulative Vee's (Lorraine Toussaint) beating of Red (Kate Mulgrew).

Going into season 3, Aduba teased that she began to realize that there was something bigger that OITNB creator Jenji Kohan was hoping to do with the show.

"I realized 'Oh my gosh' there is a greater story that [Kohan] has been meaning to tell since the beginning," Aduba revealed.

Meanwhile, Aduba may be getting awards traction again with the Golden Globe nominations coming up on Wednesday. She could be a frontrunner in the TV Supporting Actress category, considering the popularity of both her and her character.

Aduba won the Emmy this August for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, which she still thinks is surreal to this today.

"It's still a surprise. Like is this really happening? I think they said my name. Maybe there's another Uzo? I just feel humbled and grateful by the whole thing," she said.
