Creator of VH1's hit Love & Hip Hop franchise Mona Scott Young has spoken out about firing Benzino and Althea Heart from the Atlanta installment.

Benzino Says Feud With Stevie J Was 'Harder Than Getting Shot'

VladTV caught up with the executive producer at her Monami Holiday Celebration earlier this week and played coy on why she decided to axe the couple, but said they are not in the dark on any factors that played a part.

"I really don't spend much time living out my business relationships on social media.

"Benzino and Althea, I think, are very much aware of what transpired. I wish them nothing but the best. They were very much in love. So I'm hoping that they move forward and have an incredible wedding and an amazing life together."

She also dished on the epic fight that occurred during the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta reunion special and revealed if it would have gotten so brutal if she were the facilitator.

"It's hard to say...I think that what we witnessed was an explosion of pent up emotion that had been building based on interactions that were going on both on and off camera. We only shoot for a finite period of time.

"People only get to see what the production scheduled will allow. Unfortunately for Joseline she handled it in a less than tactful way and I think she would admit to that herself."

She continued to speak on the firing of Yung Berg from Love & Hip Hop Hollywood after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and costar Masika Tucker. Young said that while she was not there, she believes that Yung Berg's feelings took over and said in the end it was VH1's choice to let him go.

"I loved his sense of humor. I think he was a great addition to the show."
