Oscar Pistorius reportedly threw a fit of rage when he discovered Judge Thokozile Masipa granted the prosecution the right to challenge the acquittal on murder charges against him, but his lawyer Brian Webber is claiming that's untrue.

Judge Thokozile Masipa Grants Prosecution Appeal Over Her Verdict For Oscar Pistorius

On Thursday, Times LIVE reported that the athlete "lost it" according to a fellow prisoner when he heard on the radio the appeal was approved.

On Friday, Times LIVE reported that Webber released a statement regarding that report.

Oscar Pistorius Is Reportedly 'Pissed Off' About The Appeal Getting Approved

"The story as published by The Times [print publication counterpart of digital publication, Times LIVE] is simply untrue. This type of reporting is irresponsible and misleads the public," Webber stated.

The Times made the story front-page news, but Webber insists it's totally made up.

"The story, relating to Oscar's reaction... after learning that his acquittal for murder will be appealed is not only sensationalist but also devoid of any truth," he said.

He added that he went to see Pistorius right after Judge Masipa made her ruling and discussed the situation in great detail with him. He said he was the first one to relay the news to him, which is not what the inmate said.

The inmate insisted Pistorius was "pissed off," detailing that once Pistorius heard the news on the radio he immediately "got up and stomped." He then "went straight to the gym. He started lifting weights like it was going out of fashion."
