Dahlia and Freya may have only been touched upon during the second season of The CW's The Originals so far, but as the series moves forward in 2015 they are going to become major players.

Find Out Why Freya Might Return On 'The Originals' In 2015

"[She's part of] another sector of evil that's not occupied by the current Mikaelsons," said creator Julie Plec of Dahlia in a recent interview with IGN. "Dahlia is still lurking out there, God knows where."

"Dahlia's somebody we definitely haven't heard the last of as we move closer to the end of the season," Plec added.

Baby Hope's Powers Revealed On 'The Originals'

While flashbacks have revealed that Dahlia took Freya as payment for Esther's ability to have children, it is uncertain what became of the child after that. This is something Plec assured fans would be revealed as the season moves forward, and that's not all.

According to actor Joseph Morgan (Klaus), Dahlia's return will help Klaus to understand his own mother.

"If we start to learn that Esther had motives behind what she did and her motives were that she was doing bad things for good reasons just like Klaus had learned to do, it's a great example of a child subconsciously learning from his parents," explained Morgan. "Maybe it will help him to understand a little bit more what Esther did, the choices she made."

While Dahlia will likely have a major impact on Klaus, it is Finn (Yusuf Gatewood) whose world would be turned upside down by the return of Freya. Not only was he the only one who was alive to know Freya, he has also spent centuries mourning her loss and to see his sister again could disrupt his blind sense of vengeance.

The Originals will return on The CW to continue with its second season Monday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
