Olympian Gabby Douglas and television queen Oprah Winfrey met on the balance beam this weekend and shared all the fun on Twitter.

The talk show host was in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday to interview Douglas for an upcoming episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter." Winfrey tweeted photos of their meeting, including a shot of the pair holding hands on a balance beam - albeit much lower to the ground than the one on which Douglas soared at the London Games.

"Gabby helps me on the beam. Baby steps. #nextchapter," Winfrey wrote.

And Oprah wasn't the only one getting all a-Twitter about the interview. Douglas also took to the social networking site to share her excitement.

"Thank you so much @Oprah. Me and my family really enjoyed meeting you! We had so much fun today!!" she wrote.

Winfrey and Douglas shot footage in the gym as well as in Douglas' serene backyard in Iowa. Oprah wore a mint-colored sweater with navy pants, while Douglas opted for a professional yellow dress and long locks - when she wasn't rocking her gym clothes, of course.

The pair posed for another photo with Douglas holding her two gold medals.

Winfrey was a vocal supporter of Douglas throughout the London Games. After Gabby's historic gold medal victory in the all-around competition, Oprah tweeted, "OMG I'm so THRILLED for Gabby. Flowing happy tears!! #TeamUSA."

The Oprah interview is the latest in a wide-ranging media tour for Douglas, who also appeared on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno alongside First Lady Michelle Obama last week.

Douglas' appearance on "Oprah's Next Chapter," which will also include an interview with her mother Natalie Hawkins, will air Aug. 26 on OWN.
