[WARNING: The Following Contains Spoilers for HBO & AMC shows including Big Love, Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead, & Boardwalk Empire]

Earlier this season Mad Men reminded viewers that it wasn't afraid to kill off its stars, which could mean rough times ahead for Don Draper.

Critics Slam 'Mad Men' Series Finale Before It Airs

The often conflicted and morally ambiguous Don, played by Jon Hamm, has seen a lot during the AMC drama's seven seasons. As the series comes to an end, however, the fate of Don remains uncertain and while his death may not be a guarantee, there is certainly a precedent for it.

Over the years many of TV's hottest shows have killed off their leading men during the series finale. HBO remains one of the biggest offenders with the last-minute death of Bill Hendrickson (Bill Paxton) on Big Love in 2011 and Boardwalk Empire with the murder of Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) in 2014.

'Mad Men' Star Jon Hamm Dishes On Casting Mix-Up

Game of Thrones even went so far as to kill off its leading man during the first season when Ned Stark (Sean Bean) was executed and Six Feet Under surprised viewers by fastfowarding to the death of every leading and supporting character.

AMC's own The Walking Dead has never turned away from shocking viewers with an unlikely death. Even CBS surprised fans this year with sudden and violent death of Will Gardner (Josh Charles) on The Good Wife.

While some fans are more inclined to anticipate the death of Megan Draper (Jessica Pare) this season, Don's demise wouldn't be entirely out of the question. It is possible that he will meet his end during the finale.

Mad Men returns on AMC for the remainder of its seventh and final season in the spring of 2015.
