Once Upon a Time co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz recently discussed how Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) backstory will be featured in upcoming episodes, in addition to an exploration of his relationship with Emma (Jennifer Morrison).

While we have gotten plenty of information about Hook's background over the course of Once Upon a Time, Kitsis recently told The Hollywood Reporter that there was more ahead in the second half of season 4.

The co-creator also noted that he will essentially be forgiven for his actions while under Rumple's (Robert Carlyle) spell.

"I think he kind of has a pass on that," Kitsis said. "He's tried really hard to do the right thing, and we're excited: we're going to get more into his backstory in the second half. And what's fun is he and Emma are [now] a couple, so we're going to watch them grow."

As always, Once Upon a Time will be juggling many different storylines in the latter half of the season, and Horowitz teased what exactly is ahead for fans to expect:

"I think with the arrival of these three new villains, the Queens of Darkness [Maleficent, Cruella De Vil and Ursula], while we're going to spend some time with them, it's going to be how are they affecting our people. And we're really excited to delve into them."

Once Upon a Time returns for the second half of season 4 starting on Sunday, March 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
