On Saturday, Bryan Times posted the details with the actress as she talked about how the characters on the series need to be expressed in a certain way so they won't be too over the top.

"With a show like ours, which is so heightened, you really have to ground the characters even more (than usual) to be able to pull off the insanity. Otherwise, it would just be a complete cartoon," Milicevic said.

'Banshee' Will Have 'More Blood, More Fighting, More Sex'

Even though the series tends to have some moments that are almost too extravagant, the actress said that her character Carrie is someone who's willing to deal with all the trouble to fight for what she cares about the most.

"Obviously it's pulpy and noir-ish to start with, but for me it was easy to ground her because any character who is after love- and that's what really drives Carrie, love of her family and her old lover- is easy for me to understand," Milicevic said.

This can leave Carrie in a rough situation with finding out if she can be a mother and a hard-core fighter at the same time.

"Can she even be a regular mom? Is that something she really wanted? Or is that adrenaline-fueled lifestyle the thing she really craves and the other thing was suffocating her?" Milicevic explained. "You know how it is- you want something and then you get it and it's like, 'Oh, never mind.'"

Banshee returns on Friday, January 9 at 10 p.m. ET on Cinemax.
