Taylor Swift 'Never Ever' Hits No.1 on Billboard 100 List, First Time for the Singer
Taylor Swift has her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit. "Never Ever Getting Back Together," released on Aug. 13, sold 623,000 in the week ending Aug 19. and now it tops the Billboard charts, making Swift ecstatic.
"#1 on Billboard's Hot 100!!?! This has been the most amazing week. (Jumping up and down,)" she posted on Twitter, after hearing about the good news.
Her 2010 hit "Mine" was No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and twice she reached No. 2: with "You Belong With Me" in 2009 and "Today Was a Fairytale" in 2010.

Enstarz reported back on Aug. 22 that Swift's new song set the female digital sales record and the second-largest digital sales week ever. Flo Rida's 2009 hit "Right Round" is the current song holding the record for the most downloads.
"Never Ever" marks Swift's 46th time on the Hot 100 list, according to Billboard.com. Though never before reaching No. 1, all 14 songs from her third album "Speak Now" were on fact on the Hot 100 list.
In the new song, off of her upcoming album "Red," Swift bashes an ex-boyfriend, stating that, regardless of all the rumors circulating, they will never get back together.
Lyrics from the new song include, "I say, I hate you, we break up, you call me, I love you/ Oh we called it off again last night/ but oh this time I'm telling you...we are never ever ever ever getting back together...like ever."
Swift admitted in an interview that inspiration for the song came from her hearing that an ex-boyfriend of hers had been telling people that they would get back together. However, with 'Never Ever," Swift put the rumors to rest.
Swift has not stated in specific which ex-boyfriend the song refers to but the list of her past lovers include Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Joe Jonas.
