It is now confirmed that Rosie O'Donnell indeed got married this summer. The comedienne reportedly wed her fiancee' Michelle Rounds on June 9 in New York in a private ceremony.

"They got married but they haven't had the wedding celebration," O'Donnell's publicist Cindi Berger told People magazine, reported on Aug. 27.

O'Donnell took to her blog that same day to share the happy news.

"We married in private before [Michelle's] surgery, just the [two] of us. When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish," she wrote. "Thankful for the love and support so many have given us during these trying times.Including all of u stranger-friends connected thru invisible strands of wi fi."

O'Donnell married soon after learning that Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors. O'Donnell herself recently suffered a heart attack in mid-August., where she revealed that an artery was 99 percent blocked and a stent was inserted to help prevent further blockage.

Rounds is suffering from a rare disease that only affects three out of every million people, according to the comedian's blog.

The couple announced their engagement in December 2011. They were suppose to marry in August, but married secretly before Rounds' first surgery to treat the rare disease on June 14.

"It is such a rare tumor. It took them quite a while to get an accurate diagnosis," added Berger. "She had several gastrointestinal surgeries to remove the desmoid tumors. She is now on the road to recovery."

O'Donnell and Rounds are participating in the annual DTRF Running for Answers 5K, held in Philadelphia on Oct. 21 to raise awareness for desmoid tumors. In addition to help raise funds, the couple plan to match all donations made to Rounds' fundraising page, O'Donnell also wrote.
