According to a new report, MTV has yet to rule out a possible Teen Mom 4.

'Teen Mom' Star Gary Shirley Is Expecting His Second Daughter

Despite MTV's latest installment of Teen Mom, Teen Mom 3, being canceled after just one season, a source claims the network is considering running a fourth installment of the franchise with a group of new girls.

"MTV has not pulled the plug on a Teen Mom spinoff for this crop of girls," Teen Mom Junkies reported on Sunday. "If the ratings for their catch up special were high enough, the chances of a Teen Mom 4 coming to your screen are extremely likely."

After the success of 16 & Pregnant in 2009, MTV launched Teen Mom, a series which followed Maci Bookout, Farrah Abraham, Amber Portwood and Catelynn Lowell, all of whom first starred on season one of 16 & Pregnant. Years later, Teen Mom 2 was established, following the lives of four more young mothers, including Kailyn Lowry, Jenelle Evans, Leah Messer and Chelsea Houska.

In Dec. 2013, MTV launched the third Teen Mom franchise, Teen Mom 3, with Mackenzie Douthit, Briana DeJesus, Katie Yeager and Alex Sekella. Unfortunately, the series didn't capture high ratings, and the network canceled it after just one season.

"MTV will not be moving forward with a second season of Teen Mom 3," the network said in a statement. "We're thankful to Briana, Katie, Mackenzie, Alex and their families for sharing their stories as they navigate young parenthood and for helping to have a positive impact on the importance of teen pregnancy prevention."
