Though the news they will get to see the final three episodes of Red Band Society is good news for the show's fans, it may officially be the last time they will get to watch new episodes following the lives of their favorite patients and doctors at Ocean Park hospital.

'Red Band Society' Gets A New Timeslot

FOX has confirmed that they will air the final three episodes of the freshman drama series on two consecutive Saturday nights, with episode 11 airing at 9 p.m. on Jan. 31, and episodes 12 and 13 airing back-to-back on Feb. 7 at 8 and 9 p.m.  Unfortunately, it will likely be the last few episodes of the show.

According to Deadline, after attempts to find a new home for the series failed, FOX and ABC Studios are pulling the plug on the series.

What 'Empire's' Strong Ratings Could Mean For 'Red Band Society'

The website quotes sources close to the networks, and claims Fox had been having several conversations with ABC Studios the last few weeks trying to find way to keep the show alive without it returning to a primetime spot due to its lower ratings.

Initially FOX reportedly offered to move show to a summer-run, which was considered not to be economically feasible, and after a failure by both to shop the series to a new outlet, officially called it quits.

Despite the report that it is officially the end for the series, fans aren't likely ready to give up on their social media movement to revive the show, by continuing with their tweeting #Saveredbandsociety and working on their petition on change.org.
