It seems that the Longmire writers are digging deep this week to create some meaningful episodes.

Why 'Longmire' Needs Good Writers

On Wednesday writer Tony Tost revealed that Miranda Lambert's hit single Automatic was playing in the writer's room as they penned new episodes for show. The song is off Lambert's Platinum album, which was released June 2014.

Netflix Dishes On Plans For 'Longmire'

Tost has been dropping hints from the writers room ever since the crime drama was picked up by Netflix in December and the writers got back to work. Of course not all of his comments pertain specifically to the episodes they're writing, but it's likely that the songs they play for inspiration might just point fans looking for clues in the right direction.

2014 was a whirlwind of uncertainty for Longmire. The popular series found itself in trouble last year when A&E elected to cancel the program after three seasons. The cancellation came as a surprise to most fans, especially since the series was the network's highest-rated scripted series at the time. It was also the second highest-rated show behind the reality series Duck Dynasty. The crime drama lingered in limbo for months before Netflix came in and decided to revive the popular program.

Production for the series is set to begin in March.

Longmire will likely return on Netflix for a fourth season during the later half of 2015.
