Agents of SHIELD's Grant Ward will start a new chapter of his life in the midseason premiere, and he might be ready to move on from Skye.

Title For 'Agents Of SHIELD' Midseason Premiere Announced, How Will Skye's Transformation Affect Coulson's Team?

It looks like the May (Ming-Na Wen) iteration of Agent 33 will become Ward's (Brett Dalton) new partner when the series returns with "Aftershocks." The last time Skye (Chloe Bennet) saw her former CO, she put three bullets in his chest (thank god for those bulletproof vests) and Dalton believes those shots put the nail in the SkyeWard coffin.

"Skye shooting me three times in the chest kind of is her answer to, 'Is this going to work out?'" Brett told Zap2It. "That seems to be a pretty definitive answer from her end. I think Ward needs to collect himself and see what the next step is."

However, Dalton isn't ready to hoist the sails on a new 'ship. Whether or not Agent 33 and Ward have some sort of spark (which may be helped along by the fact that she looks like a May clone), fans will have to wait and see. Dalton told Zap2It that the pair's partnership will kick off "another chapter for Ward's journey."
