Lil Wayne has previously taken to Twitter to confirm that his fourth "Dedication" mixtape with DJ Drama would be released on Aug. 30.

However, on Thursday when Aug. 30 came around there was no sight of the new work. However, he has now said that it will be released on Sept. 3 at 4 p.m.

Lil Wayne originally promised that the release would take place on Aug. 15, but was forced to backtrack and pushed it off to give 2 Chainz's recently released album the chance to dominate without any competition, according to MTV.

Lil Wayne said, "That's my real, real, real good homeboy right there and I refuse to put any attention on me when the spotlight, everybody's eyes, everybody's attention and everybody's focus should be on my n---a 2 Chainz's album."

Allhiphop.com posted on Thursday, "what's the deal?" after the mixtape was nowhere to be found, speculating that its release had been pushed back once again.

They reported that when a fan tweeted DJ Drama on Wednesday night asking if he should stay awake for the tape's release, Drama replied, "naw, y'all get some rest."

Lil Wayne tweeted on Aug. 23 about the mixtape's release "D4-aug-30" and fellow rapper Nicki Minaj confirmed to MTV that she recorded a verse for the release.

It was also rumored that Drake would be featured on the mixtape, however, it seems like fans might now have to continue the wait for a short while more. Lil Wayne will finally bless fans with Dedication 4 on September 3 at 4 p.m. ET, with DJ Drama on Live Mixtapes.

Wayne recently announced that he would be taking a break from the music industry to instead focus on his skateboarding career, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
