Batman fans worried that he may not stand a chance against Superman in the highly anticipated blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but he will apparently be more of a fighter than he was in the Dark Knight trilogy.

When Batman and Superman inevitably face off in Batman v Superman, it will be a bit more evenly matched than some fans would expect. Guillermo Grispo, who is the fight choreographer on the blockbuster, recently spoke to Los Andes Diario, via Comic Book Resources, about their confrontations.

"There's a thought that Batman has no chance, that Superman will squash him like a bug," Grispo, said. "But when you see the movie, and how it all comes out, there's a very intelligent explanation as to why they would have a firsthand confrontation, though it seems to be totally to Batman's disadvantage."

Grispo said that Batman will be fighting in a way that he had always dreamed of, due to the character's experience in martial arts.

"Filmmakers usually don't go all the way with it," he added. "Even in the last [Christopher] Nolan movies the action scenes aren't very good from a technical, martial arts point of view to things like choreography, filming, bad camera movements."

He was quick to say Nolan is a great director, though he observed that he "did not pay too much attention to the fights," adding: "Those are the kind of details that Zack [Synder], being so physical himself, loves preparing. I think there's going to be a big difference when you see these Batman fights in comparison to the previous ones."

Ben Affleck is slated to step into the role of Batman for the first time for the 2016 blockbuster. It remains to be seen how he and Henry Cavill's Superman will look together on screen, though fans could not be more hyped.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
