Taissa Farmiga has only appeared on two seasons of FX's American Horror Story, but will the popular young actress return for season 5?

'American Horror Story' Star Sarah Paulson Talks Rumored Space Concept For Season 5

Farmiga debuted as the moody, complicated teenager Violet Harmon in the first season of American Horror Story, with many fans taking to her doomed relationship with Tate Langdon (Evan Peters). She did not appear in Asylum, the second season of the show, but she return in a main role in Coven, season 3. She played Zoe Benson, a witch who was close to becoming the new Supreme witch.

She then sat out of Freak Show despite most of her Coven cast returning. Now, with season 5 ahead, Farmiga may return again if her schedule allows it. Last year she was busy filming a horror movie called The Final Girls but she does not have a busy film schedule ahead of her, at least according to her IMDb page.

'American Horror Story' Fans Most Want Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters & More To Return for Season 5?

The only project listed is Mary Shelley's Monster, which is in pre-production. It remains to be seen when the film will begin production though it is listed for 2015. With only this movie ahead, Farmiga would definitely be free to star in American Horror Story again as long as filming doesn't overlap.

Perhaps coincidentally, if Farmiga were to return for season 5 she will have appeared only in the show's present day seasons, with both Asylum and Freak Show being period pieces.

With or without Farmiga, American Horror Story will return for season 5 in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
