The latest photo from the set of Penny Dreadful shows a much more peaceful side to Vanessa Ives for the show's second season.

Crew Dishes On New Character For Season Two Of 'Penny Dreadful' 

On Jan. 30 producer Christopher King shared a photo on Twitter in which actress Eva Green (Vanessa) and series creator John Logan discussed a scene on set.

The background suggests a more rural location than Sir Malcolm's (Timothy Dalton) busy London estate. Vanessa's attire is also simplified, with just a basic skirt and top.

Perhaps Vanessa is in hiding or has even gotten away to the countryside for some well-deserved peace. A number of recent photos from the set reveal a great deal of shooting in the forest, which could have direct ties to Vanessa's storyline.

With production nearly concluded in Dublin, it's likely this image comes from tone end of the show's second installment. Will Vanessa be hidden away by the close of the season finale? Will anyone know where to find her? She's developed quite a bond with Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) over the course of the series, and so he will likely be involved with any big decisions she might make.

Penny Dreadful will return on Showtime for a second season on April 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
