Keith Urban has every reason to appreciate his father this month.

This week the country star shared a rare and touching photo of him and his father, Bob Urban, on Facebook.

"Being a Dad gives me a WHOLE new love and appreciation for my Dad, and everything he's done for me," wrote Urban alongside the image.

According to Woman's Day on Monday, has always remained close to his father throughout the years. In 2009 he write Song for Dad as a tribute to the man who'd raised him.

Fatherhood has been on the singer's mind a lot lately. In September his father-in-law, Antony Kidman, passed away suddenly. It was a great loss for Keith's wife, Nicole Kidman, who had been incredibly attached to her father. It was also a severe blow for Urban himself, who had close with the man.

Keith and Nicole are parents themselves now. They have two daughters together, six-year-old Sunday Rose and four-year-old Faith Margaret. "They're very different…" noted Keith of the girls. "And that happens some times, just total difference in personality."

Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret often go out on the road with their parents when Keith is touring, making the whole business a family affair.

"I love it," said Keith. "I love being a dad."

Now that his eldest daughter has started pre-school, however, Keith might be looking to spend some more time at their Nashville home this year.
