New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is considering possibly competing on ABC's Dancing With the Stars after his team's victory at the Super Bowl last Sunday.

Gronkowski, commonly referred to as "Gronk," might be trading in his signature dance moves for the ballroom. He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week where he told host Jimmy Kimmel that he had been courted to do the show for a while now.

"They've been trying to get me to go on Dancing with the Stars for a while," Gronkowski said. "I've been hurt a couple off-seasons but this off-season I'm healthy and maybe that might be a choice to make."

He is not entirely sure that he would want to compete in the dance competition, though.

"I mean, everyone already knows my moves so I don't want to show them off too much," he said, with a laugh.

Joking or not, Gronkowski might actually do well on Dancing With the Stars considering the success of pro athletes on the show, particularly football players. Past NFL players who have gone on to win Dancing With the Stars include Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward and Donald Driver.

It's entirely possible that Gronkowski could join that list, especially considering his popularity among NFL fans, which could represent a powerful demographic.

The cast announcement for the upcoming season is at the end of the month, so Gronkowski still has a little bit of time to decide.

Dancing With the Stars season 20 is slated to debut Monday, March 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
