Though production is currently underway, HBO has yet to reveal a full list of directors for the second season of True Detective.

Colin Farrell Unlikely To Surprise On 'True Detective'

Cary Fukunaga received critical and commercial acclaim for directing the show's entire first season. He even won the show's only big Emmy for it. In 2014, however, fans learned that Fukunaga would not be returning for the crime drama's second installment.

Creator Nic Pizzolatto decided that this time around the series would have multiple directors instead of just one, but even as production continues this month not all of those directors have been confirmed.

New Photos Of Vince Vaughn On The Set Of 'True Detective' Season Two

According to Den of Geek on Jan. 31, Fast and Furious alum Justin Lin was confirmed in September as the director helming the first two episodes this season. Since then, however, no new names have turned up on the list.

With eight episodes this season, fans should expect three or four directors to come on board. This means there are still 2-3 directors still unaccounted for the remaining six episodes.

Will an announcement come soon? Or will fans have to wait until the series returns this summer?

One thing that has been solidified for months now is the show's new cast. Set in California, the new season will follow the death of a corrupt city manager. Stars include Vince Vaughn (career criminal Frank Semyon), Colin Farrell (Detective Ray Velcoro), Rachel McAdams (Detective Ani Bezzerides), and Taylor Kitsch (Officer Paul Woodrugh).

Pizzolatto is slated to write all eight episodes.

True Detective will return on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
