Following the birth of his fourth child, 'Cake Boss' Buddy Valastro has to give up his chocolate fondue for a cake and balloons as his wife gave birth on Valentine's Day. Now, he has some strong opinions on what the best treats are for the most romantic day of the year.

On Wednesday, Courier Post Online reported that instead of celebrating Valentine's Day they usually opt for a birthday cake and balloons for their son's birthday.

In an interview with the online publication he said, "Yes, my baby boy, Carlo, was the best Valentine's gift Lisa and I could ever want. It depends on what he wants for his birthday dessert. I make him anything he wants. So far, it's been more cartoons and superheroes than hearts and roses!"

But he still has some good suggestions for those who aren't celebrating a birthday during the romantic holiday.

"In my opinion, a Valentine's Day meal isn't great unless it ends with dessert. You've enjoyed savory flavors during dinner, so sharing a dessert with your significant other is a sweet way to end the meal," he said.

The online publication also reported that a research and product development chef for the bakery thinks desserts are more than just sweet treats.

"Desserts in general are a very sensual and emotional inducing property," Valastro said. "A chocolate-covered strawberry, it imparts this emotional experience to your psyche. It gets you excited or gives you a sense of relief. That goes hand in hand together with Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is the day you're praising your significant other. What more (romantic) than giving them something sweet?"

What's Valastro's number one suggestion?

"For your special someone, you can never go wrong with chocolate-covered strawberries," he said. "I think those are beautiful, classic and, of course, delicious. The strawberry cheesecake we make at Carlo's Bakery is another great choice. We get the freshest, juiciest berries. It looks and tastes amazing."
