Apollo Nida's wife, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks has spoken out after he allegedly threatened to burn down their home just days before beginning his eight year sentence in federal prison.

Details Of Phaedra Parks' Alleged Affair Revealed

She opened up about the advice her mother gave her on the show after Parks' claim.

"My mother's advice was not hard to hear. That's not to say that dealing with the situation is not difficult, but my mother has always been a good voice of reason. She has the ability to very quickly get to the bottom line and identify what is most important."

She added that hearing what her mother had to say about Nida's alleged rage made her inner intuitions and feelings that he was a possible threat valid.

"It was hard coming to the realization that there was a potential threat to our safety, and that's not something that should be ignored. My mother is my safety net, and is always there to make sure I make the right decisions."

In a clip of this past Sunday's episode, Parks, who has two young sons with Nida, revealed to her mother that Nida was "acting erratic and crazy" and even accusing her of cheating. But what struck her mother as shocking was Parks' statement that Nida said he would burn down their Atlanta home as well as "punching through the walls." She added that she was concerned he would harm himself.

Her mother was not having it.

"You are my child. And those children are my grandchildren. I'm not going to let you stay. It's not worth it. I know what you're gonna do. We're getting out of here; for the safety of you and those children. If he wants to do something to himself, oh well, that's him."
