Orange Is the New Black star Matt McGorry recently spoke about the storyline involving his character John Bennett and the prisoner he impregnated, Daya (Dascha Polanco).

Things get even more complicated for Bennett in the upcoming third season of Netflix's Orange Is the New Black. While he told Caputo (Nick Sandow) about the deed, he still has to keep it hidden from the rest of his co-workers.

McGorry recently spoke with Yahoo about this storyline and how Bennett might not be the best father in his current position.

'Orange Is the New Black' Actress Dascha Polanco Talks 'Cringing' Upon Seeing Herself As Daya

"I myself am not a father but know many parents, and I know it's a very complicated process with many levels to it. I don't know that John is always the most mature [person], though he wants to be and tries to take responsibility when it's the right thing to do... but I think he has a lot of learning and growing he has to do," McGorry said.

He added that it doesn't help that this is all taking place in a prison.

"While Caputo knows that Bennett is the father, it can't become common knowledge, or Caputo will have to act on it," McGorry said. "So, the situation becomes infinitely more complicated as time goes on. It's exponentially so in the strange love triangle of Pornstache [Pablo Schreiber], Bennett, and Daya - or maybe a love rectangle if you include prison in one of the points as well."

Though McGorry name-checks Pornstache, Schreiber has gone with other career opportunities so it's possible he may never be back on the show. It would make sense, story-wise though, since he was last seen being arrested after Daya falsely accused him of impregnating her.

Orange Is the New Black is slated to return for season 3 in mid-2015 on Netflix, though the streaming site has not yet announced a specific release date.
