The concept of using The Amazing Race as a setting for a blind date may be nerve-wracking for some of the season 26 contestants taking on the challenge, but at least one of the guys is more excited by the idea than nervous.

Jelani Ro, who was set up with lawyer Jenny Wu for the season, told CBS in a pre-race interview that he thinks the idea of having a blind date was actually a good one, because he likes the idea that he'll be surprised at the starting line and will have a chance to get to know his blind date as he goes along.

"I think not knowing, like the whole blind date aspect of it, not knowing anything about them, not even their name, what they look like, it's cool, I like surprises," he said. "It's actually a really good thing, from my perspective, and you know, we're going to have learn about each other on the fly, and we're going to have to get along with each other, learn each other's weaknesses and strengths together, we're going through the experience together, at the same time, so that should make it easier, and also, that's part of the fun, for me at least."

And as for what he wants his date to be like, his requirements are simple.

"What I'm looking for in a partner...I want her to be fun and to enjoy the experience, and I also want her to be willing to compete," he said. "You know, as long as you're having fun, you're going along with the experience, and you're willing to compete and give it your best, that's all I could ask from you and that's all I could really want."

The Amazing Race premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 9:30 p.m. on CBS.
