Yes, we know the Time Lord won't return to the BBC until next fall, but the iconic sci-fi series is already filming for the ninth season. With the commencement of production comes a outpouring of spoilers, and showrunner Steven Moffat has already kicked off the finale discussion.

"I know what [Season 9's] arc is, I know where we're going, I know what's going to happen in broad terms throughout the show," Moffat teased, according to an episode of Doctor Who Extra. "It's feeling very exciting!"

As such, the writer already knows what suspenseful story will lead into the 13th episode.

"I've figured out the cliffhanger to the penultimate episode of [Season 9]," Moffat told Doctor Who Magazine (via Cult Box). "And it's a whopper. Ohh, I don't think you'll see this coming!"

It looks like episode 12 and 13 will be another two-parter, a stylistic device that will be utilized throughout the ninth season. It was previously announced that episodes three and four will follow this format as well.
