The Shotgun Rider singer, who had been invited to perform Glen Campbell's I'm Not Gonna Miss You, looked very proper with a freshly shaven face and slick hair. He even decided to forego his famous cowboy hat, which has accompanied him down many red carpets in the past.

Tim McGraw Finally Sells Nashville Property

"This one makes you nervous," he said of the Oscars as he stood beside wife and fellow country artist Faith Hill, who stunned with a long, shimmering gown and her new pixie 'do.

"It's such a big event and there's so many great people out here," he explained. "And this is a pretty special song. To be asked to do this, and be at this, and with Glen and the legacy he's left in music, it's pretty special."

McGraw was asked to step in for Campbell after the latter's health began to decline, which made him unable to attend the event. Campbell's wife and daughter did, however, make it to the Oscars and were deeply moved as they watched McGraw's performance.
