Remembering her beloved friend Aaliyah, Missy Elliot lets fans in on a little known side of the singer.

Fans remember Aaliyah as a talented young singer, actress, and dancer but Elliot says there was one part of the singer that she wished the public could have seen.

"Aaliyah, she was like a comedian. She always wanted to laugh."

With the recent controversy concerning Aaliyah's name in connection with a post-humous album produced by rapper Drake that excluded the singer's closest musical allies, mainly Timberland and Elliot, Elliot is trying to add some positive energy to the lot.

"It's very sensitive, but because she represented positive energy. She was positive. I don't ever want to bring controversy around her name," Elliot told MTV's rap fix.

During her RapFix segment, the award-winning producer remembered the comedic side of Aaliyah, recalling a fond memory when Aaliyah used fake teeth to prepare for her role in her 2002 film, "Queen of the Damned." Chuckling at the memory, she said: "She had them teeth in, practicing her lines for 'Queen of the Damned.' It was just so funny to me because I was like, if people could see this. She was a character, always happy."

Despite the controversy and perceived slap in the face from Drake, Elliot is still all smiles.
