Grey's Anatomy is a medical drama so the actors and actresses need to have some knowledge of the medical field to portray their characters properly.

Will Amelia Succeed With Dr. Herman's Surgery On 'Grey's Anatomy'?

On Thursday, TV Guide revealed a video of some of the Season 11 cast testing their medical jargon knowledge during a recent set visit.

Kevin McKidd who portrays Dr. Owen Hunt, Justin Chambers who has the role of Dr. Alex Karev as well as Jessica Capshaw who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins, Caterina Scorsone who portrays Dr. Amelia Shepherd and Camilla Luddington who takes on the role of Dr. Jo Wilson recited select medical jargon, which is actual dialogue from their ABC hit TV show.

Earthquake Shakes Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital On 'Grey's Anatomy'

Luddington and McKidd have difficulty reciting the following dialogue: "This guy's got a blown right pupil, an endo-occipital dislocation, open-book pelvis, a large open abdominal wound. A sucking chest wound with seven broken ribs."

McKidd fumbles with the term "endo-occiptial" and Luddington was extremely cautious as she recited the medical jargon.

Scorsone breezed through the dialogue as if she actually were a doctor.

The next portion of dialogue these cast members were given to recite was: "Enlarge the incision with a dissecting instrument and use a stapler to create the anastomosis."

McKidd admitted that he used to pronounce "anastomosis" wrong on set all the time.

Capshaw sailed through reading this dialogue much like how Scorsone did with the first bit of dialogue they were given to recite.

Up next they were told to recite: "I've got a post-op ortho patient on DVT prophylaxis with a subdural hematoma. Derek, she's got a blown pupil."

Luddington struggled with the term "prophylaxis," but the other cast members seemed to know the medical jargon in this bit of dialogue pretty well.

They tackled one other bit of dialogue, which Capshaw nailed, but McKidd really struggled through since he got sevrely tongue-tied over the term "comminuted".

The dialogue is: "A 15-year-old with GSW to the thigh, with comminuted femur fracture. Lacerations with superficial femoral artery."

Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
