As fans gear up for the release of Terminator: Genisys, talk of the development of the sequels is already underway, and while it has been reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be returning for the sixth instalment, there has been no word about his involvement in the final chapter.

John Connor Revealed As The Villain In Terminator: Genisys According To Leaked Script?

During production of Genisys, it had been announced that the movie would launch a new trilogy in the series. The actor revealed to The Arnold Fans that he would be part of the sequel, production for which would begin in 2016.

Enstars had previously speculated that Schwarzenegger, who is the only old actor on set, might exhaust the dimensions of his character with Genisys. It was also suggested that the sequels for Genisys will most likely be exploring new storylines, as the franchise would end up getting too repetitive otherwise. Although Schwarzenegger is the face of Terminator, Genisys has brought in an entirely new look with a new starcast and as new plots are explored there is the likelihood that while he will have a role to play in Terminator 6 he might not be part of the seventh instalment. Also, Schwarzenegger delivers his iconic line in the teaser, telling Sarah that he'll be back before jumping off the helicopter, so he will be definitely featuring in the sequel to Genisys.
