Miley Cyrus will return to the small screen again.

The former Disney star is in the discussion phase with the Lifetime network and the History Channel to negotiate reprising the role of real-life criminal Bonnie Parker for a television mini-series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cyrus has begun the discussion phase with directors to negotiate her starring in a "Bonnie & Clyde," a miniseries that will air on both cable networks. The deal, will be the first of its kind to do so in cable television.

"Bonnie & Clyde" will be produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, the team who executive-produced NBC's hit series "Smash."

Meron and Zadan recently signed on to produce the 2013 Academy Awards.

On Oct. 1 the pair announced the hiring of comedian/cartoonist Seth MacFarlane to host next year's Oscars.

The History Channel recently had success for a mini-series that aired in May. Kevin Costner won an Emmy for his role in the network's "Hatfield & McCoys."

Lifetime will air an Elizabeth Taylor biopic "Liz & Dick," in November. The tv film stars Lindsay Lohan playing Taylor.

Cyrus recently taped a guest appearance on the CBS hit comedy "Two and a Half Men."

Cyrus will guest star as a character named "Missi," a love interest for Jake, the character played by Angus T. Jones. But things get tricky when "Missi" develops feelings for Kutcher's character.

"She plays kind of a motor mouth character, so they gave her page-long monologues," said Kutcher's co-star Jon Cryer.

The "Two and a Half Men" episode starring Miley Cyrus will air on Oct. 18.
