The crime drama will officially be returning for a third season this year, with plenty of risks at every turn.

"The story of the Peaky Blinders is just beginning…" insisted creator Steven Knight during an interview with Deadline on March 13. "Life will become more lucrative, more dangerous, and more international. Expect births, marriages, and deaths and a further expansion of the Shelby empire."

So far the series has followed the Shelby family's gang, known as the Peaky Blinders, and their rise to power in 1920s Birmingham. A third season will allow not only for the family's reach to expand, but for the world around them to expand as well.

Over the last two seasons stars have included Cillian Murphy, Sam Neill, Annabelle Wallis, Helen McCrory, Tom Hardy, Noah Taylor, and Paul Anderson. It has earned six BAFTA nominations and won the 2013 Royal Television Society Award for Best Drama Series in 2013.

"This is one of the most exciting casts on TV right now," insisted producer Will Gould. "And they're here because of Steve's scripts. And with series three commissioned, this is now genuinely a saga in the making. Exciting times ahead."

Peaky Blinders will return in the UK on BBC Two for a third season later in 2015. Netflix will stream the season in the United States after the show's run on BBC Two has been completed.
