The wait is over for basketball video game fans, as the 2K Sports team is set to release "NBA 2K13" on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Both the game itself and several features of play mode have been noticeably upgraded from that of its predecessor.

One such quality altered was the face details of almost every NBA player. Superstars such as L.A. Clipper Chris Paul and Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat were two apparent improvements, as their look clearly changed for the better from NBA 2K12. Although this is a gaming aspect that will never completely please everybody, the players are undoubtedly more recognizable than in years past.

The 2K Sports team didn't alter many players from the neck down. However, varying wing spans have been added, as arm length is an important factor that plays into the NBA basketball world.

Once again, the tattoos of the NBA players will be replicated in detail on the game. However, there are a couple that were noticeably left out. Case in point, J.R. Smith's "Young Money" neck ink was omitted. Although most gamers wouldn't seem to mind, some are sticklers for any minute details missing from the real world.

With different textures and a slew of models and brands, the shoes featured in NBA 2K13 were also upgraded. The details of each individual player's footwear is apparent in the game.

With the lighting altered to replicate what a television broadcast in the respective team's building appears as, each of the team's arenas are represented point on. The floors are more detailed as well. Hence, the Boston Celtics' TD Garden clearly stands out from other team's home floors.

New animations and dribble moves have also been added to the game play. A gamer is now able to seamlessly chain moves together. Most of the respective attributes can be a testament to the improved physics engine, which allows for solid action. Collision detection has also been noticeably improved.

The slam dunks, layups and sharp passes are amongst other actions that have been drastically upgraded. With its top-notch graphics and realism, the game should be a treat for both NBA and video game fans.
