Rebekah's current witch problem doesn't mean she's forgotten about the promise she made to her brother on The Originals.

How Freya Will Be Changing Mikael On 'The Originals' This Season

As he lay dying, Rebekah (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) vowed that she would not leave her new witch body until she'd found a way to bring her brother, Kol (Daniel Sharman), back to life. Of course, this was before it was discovered that the witch inside Rebekah's is a powerful child-murderer set on breaking free.

Nonetheless, a promise is a promise for Rebekah Mikaelson.

'The Originals' Star Dishes On Marcel & Rebekah's 'Tender' Relationship

"She basically promised to bring back her brother if it's the last thing she does," said Richardson-Sellers of Rebekah during an interview with Alloy Entertainment on Wednesday. "And Rebekah is someone who means her words. She doesn't say things lightly. So that's definitely going to be on her mind."

First and foremost Rebekah will have to face Eva, the witch who's body she's inhabiting.

"She needs to deal with the psychopath lurking inside of her," laughed the actress, who believes that Rebekah's quest to save her brother will rise to the forefront again after Eva has been dealt with.

Even if Rebekah does eventually succeed in bringing her brother back, it's unlikely the role will be reprised by Sharman. Though a favorite on set during his brief time on The CW, Deadline recently confirmed that the actor has joined the upcoming CBS drama, LFE. As a result, he may not have the time to commit to a The CW return anytime soon.

The Originals will return on The CW for the remainder of its second season on Monday, April 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
