Dog in Car Grille Survives 11 Mile Ride After Being Hit By Car
A dog in Massachusetts had a wild ride on Tuesday that's become quite a buzz on the internet.
The poor dog is Suzie, a poodle-bichon mix, who survived being hit by a car as well as an 11 mile ride when she was caught in the front grille.
The driver was unaware the dog was stuck by his Toyota Camry and didn't know he had hit anything at all.
After seeing the small white dog run in the path of the car the driver stopped. He got out and checked to see if it was alright, but couldn't see the dog which was stuck in the grille of his car. He then got back to his drive from Taunton, Massachusetts to East Providence, Rhode Island, an approximately 11 mile trip.
The dog hung on for dear life as the vehicle maintained speeds around 50 mph and was eventually spotted by another driver who informed the man immediately.
The driver then drove to a nearby police station where animal control helped to get Suzie out of the grille. She was taken to a vet who found that the dog suffered missing a tooth and a concussion with a minor bladder rupture. Suzie is expected to recover, according to the vet.
According to William Muggle, the Animal Control Supervisor in East Providence, "On the way to the hospital she stood up in the animal control vehicle and I was really surprised by that."
Suzie's owners found out about the incident after seeing the reports on the news and have claimed their dog.
Muggle added: "I have definitely never seen anything like that before." He also said that the dog is "doing great. She's a sweet dog, she's very friendly. She comes over and tries jumping on your lap all the time."
