The very first official photo of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor has been released, with the Batman v Superman actor giving a menacing look to the camera.

The photo of Eisenberg as the iconic Superman villain (via Entertainment Weekly) is in black and white and features the actor giving the camera a deathly serious look. Lex Luthor will be one of the main characters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which will also be the film debut of Ben Affleck as Batman.

Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder spoke about the film's version of Lex, saying that he will be unlike any of the previous incarnations.

"He's not any of the Lexes that you've seen, that's for sure," Snyder assured, "other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course."

He cryptically added, "Our Lex is disarming and he's not fake. He says what he believes and he says what's on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it's all there."

Other cast members for Batman v Superman include Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
