Tiffany Webb: Counselor's Lingerie Photos Found By Students, Leads to Firing
Tiffany Webb, a guidance counselor, has seen lingerie photos of her lead to her termination from the New York City Department of Education.
The sexy photos of the counselor were actually taken nearly two decades previously, but that has not stopped the NYCDOE from firing her.
The 37 year old was reportedly fired from her position as a guidance counselor at Murry Bergtraum High School for Business Careers in Manhattan after a student revealed the lingerie photos of her.
Webb has said that the photos were of her, but were taken when she was posing as a model when she was about 18 to 20. She insisted that her life as a lingerie model were far behind her, however, she still finds herself out of a job.
"I am a dedicated professional and enjoyed being a guidance counselor," she said, according to The New York Post. "I did my job well, and my students and parents thought very highly of me. I would love to return to [New York City schools] and resume the career I have chosen to help and guide students."
Webb has also insisted that she had previously disclosed her former work to the NYC Department of Education, and she has had her past investigated twice since working in education. During those investigations she had to take a leave of teaching, but was absolved each time of any issues.
However, the NYCDOE has decided to take action this time: "The inappropriate photos were accessible to impressionable adolescents. That behavior has a potentially adverse influence on her ability to counsel students and be regarded as a role model."
The board voted 2-1 to terminate Webb’s position as a counselor. She is now suing the New York Department of Education for wrongful termination, sex discrimination and violation of First Amendment rights.
In the filing she demands that she be reinstated to her position as well as be paid damaged.
