Norman Bates is continuing to develop an awkward romance with his mother in a new sneak peek of Bates Motel.

On Friday, the series' Twitter page posted a scene of the next episode as Norman looks inside his mother's closet. As he sorts through her dresses, he picks one out and gets weirdly attached to it. He can be seen in a mirror's reflection just touching and groping this dress that he holds near his face.

It's like this piece of clothing is Norman's high that gets him off in a way that shows how much he truly loves the woman who raised him.

When the obsessed son gets more erotic with the dress, his mother calls him down to dinner, breaking his little trance.

So rather than putting the dress back in the closet, he walks into his room and throws it under his bed. When he walks out, it leaves questions on what exactly he plans to do with this attire when he gets back and has alone time. Odds are likely it would be something that'll creep out viewers.

In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, Freddie Highmore (Norman) mentioned how his character's relationship with Norma is going to be more like two spouses instead of a mom and her son.

"I guess there's always been hints of this sort of husband/wife relationship that Norma and Norman share. And I think it goes a lot more in that direction in the third season."

Bates Motel airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on A&E.
