She has been keeping a major secret from everyone who has known her since she came to L.A., but the fact that Maya (Karla Mosley) is transgender has officially become more public on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Maya Gives Rick Some Surprising News

After overhearing a nasty fight between Maya and her sister, Nicole (Reign Edwards) in Rick's (Jacob Young) office, Carter (Lawrence St. Victor) stayed outside and eavesdropped-and in the process he learned that Maya had in fact been born as Myron, and transitioned to become Maya later on in life. Now, after Nicole has left, Carter will confront Maya about her secret and demand to know if it is true.

At first, after officially learning the truth however, he will be shocked that he never knew before, considering he and Maya had previously been sleeping together and were engaged to be married-but she had never seen it fit to let him know the truth about her.

Nicole Confronts Maya About Her Lies

"We've been involved, right? I would have known!" Carter says to Maya in a preview clip for the Monday, April 6 episode.

However, after his initial shock wears off, Carter will begin to wonder what Maya hopes to gain from keeping the secret from Rick-who has reiterated several times that honesty is the most important thing in his relationship, following Caroline's (Linsey Godfrey) betrayal by kissing Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) while she and Rick were still married. Because Rick is so keen on honesty, Carter will try to convince Maya to tell the truth-something she will outright refuse to do-and will keep him from doing as well.

"You have to promise me that you will not say anything," she says to Carter in the clip.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
