Hayden Panettiere sang her heart out on the premiere of ABC's new show "Nashville."

The former "Heroes" actress found the project as a good opportunity to use her vocal talents.

According to CMT, Panettiere pursued a singing career alongside trying to land acting work. Eventually she decided to stick with acting, but now she's finally getting a chance to intermingle her passions.

"I quit after about four or five years of recording," Panettiere said in an interview with Women's Health. "I said this is not me. But I said that if I was ever going to do music again, I would do country music, and for this to come along and to get both of the things I love combined in one show, it's a dream come true. Really. And I don't mean that in a cliche way."

This is the first time Panettiere has gotten into the genre of country music, but she says it's an exciting opportunity.

ABC's "Nashville" is a drama about a 40-year old famous country music star played by Connie Britton who teams up with Panettiere when her career begins to slip. Country music plays a key role in the show and the premiere didn't disappoint in delivering the feeling of the genre.

Panettiere plays Juliette Barnes, a bad girl in the country music scene with an incredible voice. Critics and fans are comparing Panettiere's performance as closely related to the career of hit singer Taylor Swift.

Both Panettiere and Britton are being coached by T-Bone Burnett. The legendary producer and guitar player is passing along his talents to make the two actresses shine on stage.

"Nashville" can be seen on ABC Wednesday's at 10pm.
