Previously, Business Insider reported that the movie might easily nail that record before any other release this year. The report adds that there seems to be enough time for Furious 7 to make up that kind of money, before the next mega release Avengers: Age of Ultron is unveiled. Avengers is set for a May release and Furious 7 can definitely rake in the bucks in a matter of a month.

It has also been revealed that Furious 7 will claim the highest-grossing opening weekend in April, set to score $120 million.

Phil Contro, vice president and chief analyst at BoxOffice.com spoke to Business Insider about the predicted success of the film.

"This is definitely shaping up to be massive," he said. "With a movie like this, it's important not to get too carried away with expectations because ... in the lead up to a big movie, that's all people are talking about and it's easy to keep saying, 'it's going to be bigger, and bigger, and bigger.' That said, I think it has a legitimate shot at becoming the next member of the $1 billion global club."

Furious 7 hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
