As the Switched at Birth characters deal with more rough situations, someone is about to announce some startling news.

Shooting Begins For New Episodes Of 'Switched At Birth'

On Tuesday, Deadline mentioned that the ABC Family series will be returning later this summer. As Bay faces the aftermath of her sexual assault and the break-up with Emmett, Daphne has her own struggles with college and a new guy. This piece of news isn't too surprising since that was already happening in previous episodes, but here is something else good to know:

The Kennish family is about to find out that someone is pregnant. And it will not be a planned baby.

Actress Weighs Is On Bay's Sexual Assault On 'Switched At Birth'

Whatever happens down this path, it leaves questions on if the baby will be kept or not. Not to mention, who is the one with a baby inside her? One theory is that it could be Bay's, which could lead into a heavy storyline if Tank happens to be the father. It was already hard enough that Bay had sex with him while she was drunk, but could it have brought on an unexpected pregnancy?

According to series creator Lizzy Weiss, something controversial is going to take place on the drama.

"We have one of the most compelling (and controversial stories) coming up," she previously tweeted. "Really eager to hear your thoughts. #SwitchedatBirth this SUMMER."

Was Weiss referring to the pregnancy? Or is there going to be something else that fans should be aware of? Everyone will find out in just a few short months.
