The 100's Jasper cannot find his way to his season 1 innocence, even with the return of his signature goggles.

'The 100' Season 3: Lexa's Coalition To Collapse? Jason Rothenberg Previews Expanding World

Jasper (Devon Bostick) ended season 2 in a haze of devastation and anger - watching your girlfriend die and knowing that your best friend helped orchestrate her demise will do that to a person. In the wake of the Mount Weather massacre, Raven (Lindsey Morgan) returned Jasper's goggles to him, but the teen is not quite the same carefree boy who once wore them.

"Yes and no," series creator Jason Rothenberg said of the possibility that the eyewear will herald a return to a more innocent Jasper. "It was a bit awkward. He's not that kid now. Like getting your childhood bike as a grownup. Make sense?"

In other words, it looks like Jasper's prized possession will remain mearly as a reminder of what he once had. As season 3 opens, Jasper will still be struggling to find a way to forgive Monty (Christopher Larkin) for his role in the Sky People's liberation from the Mountain Men's stronghold.

Obviously [that relationship] is going to be very, very strained now going forward and I'm sure we haven't seen the last of it," Rothenberg told Access Hollywood. "I'm sure that things will transpire in the coming season to like push them back together - I hope, anyway."
