One Direction and Van Halen bassist Wolfgang Van Halen have been trading insults after an incident that occurred in a hotel lobby in Birmingham, England, the Christian Post reported.

Wolfgang, 21, son of Eddie Van Halen, posted on his Twitter page that the five singers from One Direction insulted him.

"Fun fact: Was just insulted by that shitty boy band #One Direction in the lobby of our hotel this morning! Greetings Birmingham!" the instrumentalist tweeted on Oct. 16. "No joke. That ACTUALLY happened. "

Though he did not write exactly what the verbal altercation was about, he did say that the insult was also directed toward Eric Friedman, who does guitar and vocals for Creed, and drummer Garrett Whitlock. The two were with Wolfgang at the time.

"Had a run in with some boy band in the hotel lobby. no worries. I can't take a insult from someone who doesn't even write there own tunes," Whitlock tweeted that same day.

Wolfgang then posted an insult of his own directed toward the British boy band, stating, "That group of kids in #OneDirection were d-kheads. They call themselves that because all of their hair points in #OneDirection."

The singers of One Direction - Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik - have not responded yet to the comments and to state what the feud was really about.

Only a day before the incident, Payne tweeted that the band won the award for Best UK & Ireland Act at this year's Europe Music Awards. However, the feud between 1D and Wolfgang might not be over.

"There is something about this battle of the bands that makes fans believe that this feud is going to get ugly between the members and the fans before it goes away," The Examiner said.

One Direction's second album, "Take Me Home," will be released on Nov. 12, 2012.
