The official trailer for Awkward season 5 has dropped, and the final days of Jenna's (Ashley Rickards) time at Palos Hills High School will be full of shocks, surprises, and possibly, a true conclusion to some epic romances.

Jenna To Make A Final Decision About Matty?

The Palos Hills gang is officially closing the book on their high school lives, with the end of senior year approaching rapidly with prom, graduation, and their official ascent into life as adults. But things still may not be simple--and yes, awkward, for them as they celebrate their final days of high school together.

The biggest thing that could cast a pall over the end of senior year is whether or not Mattie (Beau Mirschoff) and Jenna will work through all of their complications and stop standing in their own way--and will finally reunite as a couple.

Jenna & Matty To Reunite In Time For Graduation?

However, it appears that if a Jatty reunion is in the works before the season ends, it won't be something that happens very quickly--as they both appear to be at the prom with other people. Jenna poses with BFF Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) for her photo, while Matty seems to have gone to the prom with mean girl Sadie (Molly Tarlov). However, in a move that is uncharacteristic for Sadie, who has never been a fan of Jenna's, she may become the pair's biggest supporter--even encouraging Matty to go for what he actually wants.

"You have to tell her," Sadie says to him in the trailer.

Matty then has a flashback to telling Jenna how he felt--before the clip goes into a montage of shots that seem to show the two reuniting during their graduation carnival celebration.

The biggest question this season however will be who may consider getting married--after it appears that Tamara might be presented with an engagement ring before senior year ends. The question of course would be just who she gets engaged to.

Awkward season 5 premieres August 31 on MTV.
